David Ball is a Multimedia Journalist at WVLT News.
David joined the WVLT team as a sports intern in 2013. Just a few months later, he was hired on the assignment desk where he quickly advanced to a full time producer position, producing the 4pm and eventually the 11pm. David has worn many hats in the newsroom and is now a general assignment reporter.
David is a native East Tennessean and a proud graduate of Lenoir City High School where he wrote for the school's paper The Panther Press. David started his college career at Lipscomb University in Nashville and later transferred to the University of Tennessee where he developed a passion for Journalism. While at UT, he was a regular DJ on WUTK 90.3 The Rock, voted Knoxville's best radio station for over a decade and voted a top ten college station in the nation. While on the air, David also co-hosted the Marble City Radio Company show.
David's deep East Tennessee roots inspire him every day to tell the stories you care about and need to know. He looks at his job as a service to the community.
When he is not working, he's cheering on the Vols, hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains or enjoying Knoxville's live music scene.
