The unofficial start to high school football season begins tonight

High school football season unofficially starts Friday night, as schools face off against others in their county.

Tonight at 7 p.m., Maryville, William Blount, Greenback, Heritage and Alcoa high schools face off for the 2018 Blount County Jamboree, hosted by the William Blount Governors.

Jamboree night is considered "Week 0" of high school football season, but allows schools to check out their nearby competition.

The KOC Jamboree will go on as scheduled at Neyland Stadium.

If the weather hadn't worked out, a contingency plan was in place.
