NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam announced on Monday that the National Foundation for Governors' Fitness Councils had selected the state to participate in the 2018 DON'T QUIT! fitness campaign.
The program will deliver a state-of-the art fitness center to three schools in Tennessee that have demonstrated leadership in getting and keeping students fit. Each new fitness center will include strength training equipment, cardio fitness equipment and a multi-exercise circuit training system.
The nomination process for schools to receive the fitness centers opened Monday, February 26, and was set to run through Friday, April 6, 2018. Anyone is eligible to nominate a school.
The program is also open to schools in Kansas, South Carolina and Utah.
