One dead following motorcycle crash in Sevierville

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- According to a release sent from the Sevierville Police Department, one person is dead following a motorcycle crash.

Police responded to an area on West Dumplin Valley Road on Thursday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m. for reports of a crash that involved a motorcycle and car.

An investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Impala was traveling west on West Dumplin Valley Road and attempted to turn left onto Northview Optimist Paark when it collided with a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was traveling east.

The driver of the motorcycle, 57-year-old Randy Renfrow of Kodak, died as a result of the crash, the police said. The driver of the Chevrolet, an 82-year-old man, was not injured.

According to the released from the police department, officials are still investigating the crash.
