Vols Wide Receiver arrested for domestic assault

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Tennessee Volunteer, Joshua Smith, was arrested early Saturday morning for domestic assault, according to court documents.

Police said Smith, a Wide Receiver for the Vols, got in an altercation with Kennedy Foster, Smith's roommate.

Foster said that he and Smith were drinking when he started coughing. Foster stated he went to his bedroom as a result and locked the door. Foster said that Smith kicked in his door because, "He was really worried about me."

Foster then began pushing Smith He told police, "We fought. He got the better side." Foster had difficultly recalling the exact number of times he was hit but said he thought he may have hit Smith back.

Foster sustained some facial injuries and was taken to U.T. Medical Center.

According to police, Smith became slightly emotional and said, "it's my fault," when he was named the primary aggressor.

Smith was taken to jail and held on a $2,000 bond.
