KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Two guys, two different stories. Each one sharing a common bond and at one point sharing a spot at the bottom of the barrel of life.
Jonathan Peak was once a hot shot basketball player for Fulton High School.
Adopted at the age of 11, Jonathan was kicked out the house at 18 and had nowhere to turn.
Down the hall is Darrell Baker.
Darrell's demons were drugs and alcohol. But both Jonathan and Darrell got a helping hand up from the Volunteer Ministry Center.
"I don't worry about my past life, I worry about my future and my present life. The past is over and done with," Jonathan said.
"Just don't give up. There is help out there," said Darrell.
