Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT)-- It was a special night out at the Farragut high baseball diamond tonight. The admirals held a "pink out night" to benefit Susan G. Komen East Tennessee in support of breast cancer
patients. The admirals hosted Maryville and cancer survivors from both sides threw out the first pitch including the mom of former Admrial coach Matt Buckner, Kathy Buckner who praised the PInk support saying, "That symbolizes all the support that's been given to me throughout the years and the support that continues, the fight we're fighting to put breast cancer behind us and maybe my grand daughter won't have to go thru it."
Congratulations to Kathy, 5 years cancer free this month and hats off to the teams and fans who wore pink tonight in support of the foundation.
A portion of sales from t-shirts, auction items and tickets will benefit Komen. What a great example of community coming together to make a difference!
