Some of the best young high school basketball players are invading Gatlinburg this week.
Rocky Top Sports World is hosting the girls 5th grade national championships. In addition to some terrific competition these young ladies will be enlightened in the ways of one of
the greatest to ever teach the game, legendary head coach
Pat Summitt. Rocky Top Sports World GM Lori Moore says the girls will learn from Pat's leadership group and learn about things like Summitt's Definite Dozen, "and anyone who's familiar with Pat's definite dozen they know that those are fundamentals of life and learning and not just basketball they are great and obviously very successful when applied to basketball but they are great lessons that they will be able to learn that will help them be a better teammate and a better leader in the future."
In to speak to the girls will be Ira Blumenthal, CEO of Summitt's leadership group started by her son Tyler. The event gets underway tomorrow and will run through Sunday again at Rocky Top Sports World.
