Students Return to Classes at University of Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Classes have resumed today at the University of Memphis for the first time since Sunday night's shooting death of football player Taylor Bradford.

The search continues for suspects in the fatal attack outside a university housing complex. Authorities say they are still trying to determine if Bradford was deliberately targeted or the victim of a random attack.

Yesterday afternoon, several football players and others tied a large red ribbon to the tree Bradford struck with his car following the shooting. They also put up a large poster board for friends and acquaintances to leave personal notes.

The football team hosts Marshall University tonight, and a moment of silence is planned before the game. Head coach Tommy West said Bradford was a well respected and popular member of the team.

Investigators said they had no evidence that Bradford was involved in illegal activity or brought the attack on himself.
