Knox Sheriff's Deputies Kill Dog

Knoxville (WVLT) - Knox County Sheriffs deputies say they shot and killed a pit bull while responding to a domestic call late tuesday night.

Sheriff's department spokesperson Martha Dooley says the two deputies were called to a home on Summerdale just before midnight.

Deputies say they witnessed an argument between 38-year-old Stanton Cameron and his 17-year-old stepson.

A pit bull who was loose at the time, allegedly charged towards the two deputies.

A total of seven shots were fired at the dog when officers say the dog would not back down, killing the animal.

Cameron was cited for having an animal without restrant.
