East Tennessee Couple Robbed, Woman Raped During Home Invasion

ATHENS, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Athens are looking for two men who broke into a home, robbed the couple who live there and raped the woman.

The police report shows the call came in just before 3 a.m. yesterday. Police say the attackers bound the couple with duct tape before they left.

The husband and wife are both 61 years old. They told police their home security company called about midnight to warn them a basement door was open. They closed it and were going back to bed when a ski masked man came into their bedroom and pointed a gun at them, then bound them.

The report says the men talked in whispers and the room was dark.
