Rain Could Ease, Not End Drought in Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Rain is falling again this morning over much of Tennessee and some spots have now recorded inches of it since early yesterday.

Forecasters say any rainfall is helpful, with the whole state suffering from drought. Many counties are listed as having exceptional drought.

Still, the considerable rainfall is not a drought breaker, but merely a good start toward bringing the region back toward normal moisture.

Rain chances remain good through Wednesday and there's still a possibility of rain through the balance of the week.
