Claiborne County (WVLT) -- The Claiborne County Grand Jury has indicted a man shot in September a sheriff's deputy.

It happened when the deputy responded a domestic dispute call involving threatening phone called on Chittum Road in Tazewell.

Phillip W. Greer of Tazewell was shot once in the arm when he ran at the deputy with a baseball bat.

Greer was arrested on Monday by the sheriff's office and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and charged with one county of Aggravated Assault.

The deputy was placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation, but no charges were filed against him.

Greer made his bond at $5,000 and is scheduled to next appear before a judge on October 29th.
