SEVIERVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- A Sevier County Commissioner won't spend any time in jail after entering a conditional plea on assault charges.
Kenneth Whaley was immediately sentenced today to judicial diversion and placed on nearly two years of probation.
If Whaley maintains a clean record, and has no more run-ins with police, he could have his record expunged after the two years.
Whaley entered the conditional plea today to one charge of assault and another count of simple assault.
The incident stems from a fight between Whaley, his ex-wife and her friend.
Whaley turned himself in to face the charges on October 2nd.
