Fort Campbell Soldier Found Dead At WKU Dorm

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- Police are investigating the death of a Fort Campbell soldier found dead in a Western Kentucky University dorm room yesterday afternoon.

Army Private Lank Graves, 20, of Glasgow, was pronounced dead in Barnes-Campbell Hall just after 12 p.m. CST.

Graves had been visiting a friend for the weekend. The cause of death was not immediately available. Warren County deputy coroner Dwayne Johnson said Graves' body would be taken to the State Medical Examiner's office tomorrow for an autopsy.

University spokesman Bob Edwards said there was no indication of foul play.

Edwards said Graves and the student were out late last night and didn't return to the dorm until around 6 a.m. yesterday morning. Edwards said he didn't know if alcohol or drugs were a factor.

Fort Campbell public affairs officer Mark Swart said no other information was available pending notification of next of kin.
