Coroner: Soldier Who Died In WKU Dorm Fell Out Of Bed

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) -- A coroner says a Fort Campbell soldier who died in a Western Kentucky University dorm room fell out of a bed and hit his head on a floor.

Twenty-year-old Private Lank Graves, of Glasgow, was pronounced dead Sunday in Barnes-Campbell Hall. Warren County Coroner Kevin Kirby says Graves rolled off a bed and struck his head on the floor.

Kirby says he expects a preliminary autopsy report by tomorrow.

He says he hasn't ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in Graves' death, pending a toxicology report.

Kirby says Graves was visiting a friend for the weekend.

Deputy Coroner Dwayne Lawrence says the two returned to the dorm around six a.m. central time Sunday. Emergency officials were called just after noon.
