Former Labor Leader Pleads Guilty to Molesting Boy at Knoxville Health Club

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) Former labor leader Carl "Bubba" Scarbrough pleaded guilty to rape this morning in Knox County Criminal Court.

The rape charge is a Class B Felony.

The judge sentenced Scarbrough to eight years in jail, but he'll be required to serve just one year in the Knox County Detention Center.

As terms of the sentence he must register as a sex offender, he will have lifetime supervision from a parole officer, and he must have no contact with the 13 year old victim.

Scarbrough was charged with molesting a 13 year old boy inside the Forst Sanders Health and Fitness Center in June of 2005.

Scarbrough was a former president of the Atomic Trades and Labor Council.

A seperate DUI case against him is set to go to court next May.
