At least 6 people have died during holiday period

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities said at least six people have died on Tennessee roads this Christmas holiday.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol records holiday highway fatalities from Friday evening until Tuesday.

Last year, nine people were killed over the holidays, which was a day shorter because Christmas fell on Monday.

Laura McPherson of the THP said four of the six victims this year were under 20 years old, including a 2-year-old girl in Kingston Springs and a Pulaski teenager.

McPherson said 14-year-old Keitasia Valentine was under the legal age for driving and not wearing a seat belt when she lost control of a sports utility vehicle, killing herself and injuring four other juveniles.
