Winter storm warning in effect for parts of East Tennessee

Undated (WVLT) - A winter storm warning is in effect for the mountains of East Tennessee along the North Carolina border for tonight and wednesday.

Four to six inches of snow are expected in the highest elevations of the Smokies with a dusting of snow possible in the valley.

The National Weather Service has also issued a snow advisory for Bell, Harlan, Whitley, McCreary, and Knox Counties in Kentucky.

These areas could recieve up to three inches of snow.

Some area roads could become slick and wind chills will drop to near zero overnight.

Take precautions and prepare for a strong winter blast.
