Tornado destroys homes in northwest Tennessee

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A tornado was spotted in northwest Tennessee and hail and thunderstorm damage has been reported as a line of storms moved east across the Mississippi Valley. No injuries were immediately reported.

The National Weather Service says the tornado was spotted Tuesday afternoon east of Dyersburg moving northeast.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported the tornado touched down along Bruceville Slab Road and dissipated.
