Son of Pigeon Forge Police Chief found dead in jail

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- The son of Pigeon Forge's Police Chief is dead tonight following an apparent suicide in the Sevier County Jail.

Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals says Bradley Baldwin, 36, was found dead in his cell shortly after 4:00 p.m.

Police sources confirm he is the son of Pigeon Forge Police Chief Jack Baldwin.

Bradley Baldwin was once a police officer himself.

Gatlinburg Police Chief Randy Brackins says he was an officer for about six or seven years during the 1990's.

Seals says the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been called in to investigate although he believes there is no sign of foul play.

Bradley Baldwin was in the jail on theft charges.
