Funeral planned for Tennessee worker killed in avalanche in N.H.

LEWISTON, Maine (AP) -- A funeral service will be held this week in Maine for a 39-year-old climber from Tennessee who died in an avalanche on New Hampshire's Mount Washington.

Peter Roux of Bartlett was reported missing Friday while climbing a gully in Huntington Ravine. Rescue crews found his body early Saturday morning.

Roux, a graduate of Lewiston High School and the University of Maine, was a finance manager with International Paper Co. in Memphis. He had joined the company after he got out of college and had worked in Jay and in Pennsylvania before moving to Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Roux. The two grew up three miles from one another in Lewiston but only met during her first weekend of college in Orono.
