Same four numbers in three of four Tennessee Cash 4 drawings

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Lottery officials say computer equipment used for drawings is working properly despite the same four digits being drawn in different sequences in three separate drawings on Monday and Tuesday.

In the Midday Cash 4 drawing Monday, computers drew the numbers 1-3-7-2. The Monday evening drawing was 1-7-2-3, and the winning numbers Tuesday evening were 2-3-7-1.

Lottery spokeswoman Kym Gerlock said officials tested the equipment and found the numbers had been randomly generated.

Last year, the lottery revealed a problem with its daily games, saying a computer programming error had prevented a number from being selected more than once in Cash 3 and Cash 4 drawings over a three-week period.

The error meant no winning draw included duplicate numerals, so numbers like 2-2-1 or 7-7-7-7 couldn't win.
