Tests confirm bones are those of missing toddler

SMYRNA, Tenn. (AP) -- Smyrna police say bones found in January are those of a toddler missing since 2006. And the death is now classified as a homicide.

Sgt. Bobby Gibson says tests showed the bones, found in a quarry, are those of Analyce Guerra, who was 2 at the time she disappeared.

Analyce was last seen in April 2006 in her family's Smyrna apartment located near Stewarts Creek. Eva Guerra said her daughter had been asleep on the living room floor about 11 p.m. the night before she was reported missing. Guerra said she awoke to find the child missing and the front door unlocked.

The family has said they believe the child was kidnapped.

The cause of death has not been released.
