3 remain missing after crane collapse

NEW YORK (AP) -- Officials in New York City say efforts to find three people missing since Saturday's deadly crane collapse are still "a search operation."

But the fire commissioner says "things get a little more grim" with each passing hour.

Four construction workers died when the 19-story crane crashed down on a Manhattan neighborhood. Crews are looking for two more workers and a woman believed to be inside a town house that was crushed by the crane, but Mayor Michael Bloomberg says they've found "no sign of life, so far."

The missing woman had come to New York from Miami to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and visit a friend who lived in the town house. The friend was rescued.

City officials say the crane passed an inspection Friday.
