LUTTRELL, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Knox County Schools security officer has been arrested in the death of a Lutrell man who was shot and killed late Monday night.

TBI officials identified the victim as 45 Michael Adam Woodby. Authorities say he was shot during an altercation with two men walking in the 500 block of Highway 370 shortly after 10:00 p.m.

Kevin Lee Waggoner, 42, was charged with criminal homicide Tuesday afternoon. He was sent to the Union County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Union Co. Sheriff's deputies first responded to the shooting and contacted TBI after finding Woodby.

Woodby's body will be taken to UT forensics for autopsy.

Last week, Kevin Waggoner sent Local 8 News a package with a letter, several restraining orders and a DVD revealing the feud between his family and the Woodby's.

In the letter, Waggoner said they began video taping his neighbors because "they perpretrated crimes" against them and lied to police.

Waggoner's family didn't want to comment on the matter yet, but said they will release a statement soon.

Theresa Woodby told Local 8 News Kevin Waggoner and his son have been harassing them since 2011. She admitted that she and her husband confronted the Waggoner's but only after they continued to video tape her family including her grandchildren.

"There should have been no reason Kevin should have been way down there off his property with a gun. My husband was wearing a pair of shorts and had no gun. He was no danger," she said.

The investigation is ongoing.
