Twin brothers arrested for drug crimes; one awaiting trial for homicide

ROANE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police say twin brothers are living twin lives of crime. Officers arrested both of them for selling drugs.

Eric Gallaher, 33, is already awaiting trail on homicide charges. The other brother, Derek Gallaher, wasn't going quietly when officers showed up to arrest him.

His neighbor, Greg Quillen, said Gallaher climbed into the attic crawl space and scurried into the next apartment.

"So i took my ladder - and the backdoor was unlocked - so they went up the ladder, went in that way, and found him hiding the back bedroom," he said.

Authorities said they filled the crawl space with tear gas to try to flush him out.

"I didn't even know they had crawl spaces up there, because I'm on the bottom. Evidently they have them up there, so he went all the way through," Quillen said.

Officials said Eric Gallaher is out on bond, awaiting his trial for reckless homicide. The charges come from a fight at the Pub & Grill bar back in 2011 that left a man dead.

This time, records show he was arrested for selling drugs in a school zone. He turned himself in last week, and remains in the Roane County jail on a $100,000 bond.

Derek already bonded out of jail.

Eric Gallaher's trial for reckless manslaughter is scheduled for this summer.
