KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police say a woman was stabbed around 12:30 a.m. Sunday at Trevor Trace Apartments on East Red Bud Drive in South Knoxville.

The victim is 50-year-old Jacqueline Hill. Family members tell Local 8 News it was her son, Joshua Hill, who is accused of putting her in the hospital.

"She got cut on both sides of her neck and her ear was almost cut off," says Whitney Hill, Jacqueline's daughter.

Whitney says her brother was staying with their mother and father. Although her mother and brother have had their differences, she says she never expected this to happen.

"It's never went that far, never been that far."

Neighbors Jesse Lowe and Tracy Williams say they woke up to Josh yelling.

"There was so much blood. She was unresponsive and her eyes were straight toward the sky. Her mouth was hung wide open. I just kept saying 'stay with me Jackie, stay with me,'" says Tracy.

Jackie's family is just ready to see her back at home.

"I'm just almost like numb, I'm just shocked. It's like I can't believe it," Whitney says.

Josh's bond is set at $25,000. He is charged with Aggravated Assault.

Whitney visited her mother at the hospital earlier Sunday and says she's in stable condition.
