Tennessee pilot killed in plane crash in Oklahoma

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- A plane crash in east Muskogee has left one person dead.

Police say the plane crashed about 1:30 Monday afternoon in a vacant lot and killed a Tennessee man who was piloting it.

Officials say the man was the only person on board. His name hasn't been released.

Deputy Police Chief Johnny Teehee says the plane was a two-seat aircraft made from a kit.

Walter Kirk says he heard a sound like an airplane trying to rev its engine. As he walked to the front of his house he saw a blur, then heard a crash and saw a flash of light.
