KNOXVILLE - A pair of country music legends stopped by the University of Tennessee on Monday to lecture students at the law school on Entertainment Law.

Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn formed Brooks & Dunn in the early 1990s. Nearly two decades later, the duo has sold more than 30 million records and topped the country charts with 23 different songs.

“For 17 years straight we've been touring,” said Kix Brooks, “and it happened in the middle of the whole ‘Garthzilla’ explosion. The night before last, I wore a Darth Vader mask and went to a Halloween party as Darth Brooks."

Brooks & Dunn also discussed the state of the recording industry, including the threat of file sharing networks such as Lime Wire. Both members of the group said that illegally downloading MP3’s from such networks is the same thing as stealing a CD from the store.
