Wreckage of Missing Plane Found In Alabama; One Killed

Murfreesboro, Tenn. (AP) -- The Civil Air Patrol says the wreckage of a missing light plane was found today in Talladega County, Alabama, killing the only person aboard.

Authorities have said the pilot was 24-year-old Jeremy Johnson of Huntsville, Alabama, an aerospace student at Middle Tennessee State University.

The beech 19-A musketeer single-engine plane went missing Monday morning en route from Auburn, Alabama, to Murfreesboro.

Teams in Tennessee and Alabama had been searching for the craft.

Johnson was in Alabama visiting friends for the weekend. The plane is owned by his family.
