Survey: TDOT Moving In Right Direction

Nashville, Tenn. (AP) -- A new survey found that Tennesseans are starting to feel better about the State Department of Transportation.

More than 2,000 residents completed the survey either by phone or mail and the results were released Wednesday. 63 percent of residents thought TDOT was "moving in the right direction."

Transportation Department officials began long-range planning after government and citizen outcries for a more fiscally responsible and balanced approach to transportation in the state.

Seventy-two percent of residents surveyed said they were satisfied with tdot maintenance on interstates, but 62 percent did not feel the department completes major construction projects quickly enough. The survey has a margin of error of about 2.3 percent.
