Tennessee's Open Government Committee Votes to Do Nothing Until 2008

Nashville (AP) -- Any changes to Tennessee's open government laws are off the table for the next legislative session.

The Special Committee picked to recommend updates voted Monday to make no recommendations until 2008.

An act approved in May charged the 18-member study committee with formulating new open government proposals by December first.

But the group didn't meet until October 16th and members said they didn't have sufficient time to act.
