School Board Delays Rezoning Vote

Knoxville (WVLT) - The vote on a school rezoning plan for the new Hardin Valley High School is now being delayed, following last night's school board meeting.

The board was expected to vote on a re-zoning plan tomorrow.

But, Superintendent Doctor Charles Lindsey said he has some revisions on the original proposal and asked the board to push the vote back.

Some parents in the Farragut, Bearden, and Karns school districts continue to voice their concerns over the new high school.

"I think they've all realized it's just a little bit too quick and I think a lot more information has come their way in the last month or two that's made them consider taking a step back and looking at it again," says parent Patti Anderson.

There's no word on when the board will vote on the rezoning plan.

The new high school is scheduled to open in August 2008.
