Greene County Man Dealt In Drugs, Not Milk, Jury Finds

Knoxville (AP) -- A federal jury has convicted a Greene County man on ten drug and weapons charges.

Prosecutors convinced jurors Richard Milburn, who posed as a dairy operator, was really the money man for a drug trafficking network.

The federal investigation turned up a marijuana and methamphetamine ring that involved more than a dozen people and some eight tons of drugs.

Several of Milburn's former associates testified against him at the trial, where Tuesday he was found guilty of conspiring to peddle methamphetamine and marijuana and carrying weapons while drug trafficking.

He faces a minimum 30 year sentence, but a judge could impose more at his March sentencing hearing.

The 55-year-old Milburn was known as "Milkman" or "Dairy Man" to his associates.
