KARM Hosts Homeless for Holiday Dinner

Knoxville (WVLT) - On a normal day, Knox Area Rescue Ministries serves more than 1,000 meals.

But officials say, they'll prepare more on a holiday like Christmas.

And expect more than 10 to 20 percent more people than usual.

Ward Benefield, a Care Coordinator with KARM, says people who have families out of town or come from broken homes or relationships usually are looking for a place to turn so that that don't have to spend the holiday alone.

And they serve with Christ's love.

"We get grateful reactions. They are very thankful for the meal they receive and hopefully we try to serve it with as much love as possible," says Benefield.

On Christmas night, KARM will serve a traditional dinner, complete with turkey, green beans, and rolls.
