Kentucky Chase Results In High Dollar Damage

Somerset, Kentucky -- A high speed police chase with speeds close to 100 miles per hour has resulted in thousands of dollars worth of damage to police property, and one man wanted in Indiana behind bars.

Officers in Somerset tried to stop the wanted man on the 914 bypass, but he refused to pull over starting the high speed chase. Police finally cornered the suspect in a parking lot but the man began ramming police cruisers in a new effort to get away.

Nine police cruisers from the Somerset Police Department and Pulaski County Sheriffs Department were damaged during the effort to take the man into custody. Early estimates say the damage could be in the several hundred dollar range.

The suspect was taken to the hospital for injuries. The police officers were uninjured.
