Meth Lab Busted on Chapman Highway

Knoxville (WVLT) - Knox County authorities are investigating a meth lab on Chapman Highway in South Knox County.

Authorities say they saw a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Chapman Highway around 7:30 Monday evening.

The deputy came through to check and found 31-year-old Travis Sinclair of Sevierville slumped over in the car.

The deputy says Sinclair started talking to the deputy, and the deputy found an open container of beer in the car. The deputy then ran Sinclair's license number and found the man was driving on a suspended license.

After searching the car, we're told the deputy found materials to make a meth lab.

"It was a variety of things that he pulled out. All the makings that you would need for a meth lab, and this is considered a medium sized meth lab," Knox County spokeswoman Martha Dooley said.

Authorities tell us there was no immediate danger to the public.
Sinclair is facing meth charges.
