Driver of Kentucky Bus Crash Dies

Bowling Green, KY (AP) -- The driver of a tour bus that crashed in Southern Kentucky has died at a Nashville hospital.

The death of 63-year-old Abraham Parker is the second to result from the crash early Monday that injured more than 60 relatives traveling home to Alabama from a family reunion.

A 71-year-old woman died when she was thrown from the bus.

A child remains in critical condition, and 14 other people remained hospitalized in Nashville and Bowling Green.

Police believe Parker dozed off while driving through the night, causing the bus to careen into a concrete bridge pillar.

C&R Tours had owned and operated the bus. The US Department of Transportation says the company has a satisfactory safety rating and had not reported any accidents or injuries in the last two years.
