Crimetracker: Knoxville police search for home invasion suspects

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police are searching for three men after a violent home invasion in the 3000 block of E. Fifth Ave.

The victims said the masked men entered the front door after 9:00 p.m. ordering the two men and three women in the home into a small room.

One of them had a shotgun, another a handgun. According to police, the suspects hit one of the male victims in the head with the butt of the pistol and hit the other male victim with the butt of the shotgun. The victims told authorities the man with the shotgun fired a shot, but no one was hit.

The three female victims said the robbers ran off with their purses. Both male victims refused medical treatment.
