Crimetracker: Monroe Co. man charged with two counts of child rape

MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Ruth Summey said her son, Jordan Summey, is a good guy who loves kids.

"Well, I know my son and I know how he does - he likes just playing, talking to kids. I don't know, he doesn't do anything that's bad to them. He just likes playing games with them, little cars and things like that," she said.

But Summey is behind bars, indicted on two counts of child rape.

According to a Madisonville police report, a woman in the neighborhood asked Summey to bring her a drink. He showed up around midnight and she thought he left shortly afterwards, but she later found him alone on the couch with her roommate's twin six-year-old daughters.

About a week later, the girls told their mom Summey kept pulling their panties down and touching them.

The news shocked Summey's neighbor, who has three young kids of his own.

"I've asked my children if he's done anything to them, and they continuously say no, but there's always that worry in the back of your head. And it's just been really scary, you know, having somebody that close like that," said Burton Keller, Summey's neighbor.

Summey's mom insists he's innocent. In fact, she thinks the women planned the whole thing:

"They just framed him up. They bummed money off of him and wanted money. She owed him $40 dollars. I just know he's not guilty," she said.

Summey is in jail on a $150,000 bond. He's set to be arraigned June 24.
