PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A dinner show in Pigeon Forge is donating leftover show materials to families who need help warming their homes this winter.

The Lumberjack Feud Dinner show is working with ministry groups in Sevier County to donate leftover firewood. Wednesday, show members got together to make a delivery to one Cosby woman who's been struggling to stay warm at night.

"We've been using space heaters just to try to keep this house warm and walking around in warm underwear and parkas," said Faith Simonds. "There just aren't words to say thank you. It just doesn't seem like enough to say thanks."

The team will split, deliver, and stack the wood for needy families. Simonds says wood heat will keep her entire house warm, but she's not been able to afford it this winter.

"To bring the wood, not only do they donate it but they split it and they deliver it I would have been happy to come get it myself," said Simonds.

Ray Geist, a Lumberjack with the Feud, said he's delivered about a dozen loads of wood, and there's much more he'd like to do with all the wood that's chopped during the show.

"It's a lot of wood that we end up chopping and it's just nice to come deliver it to somebody and have them make use of it," said Geist. "If we don't give it away then it just get dumped out and it's nice to be able to give back to the community and to know that we're helping out and saving people money and everything."
