Ice Bears doubled up by Louisiana, 4-2

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (release) -- The Knoxville Ice Bears fell for just the second time in 10 games in front of a fiercely courageous crowd of 3,309 to the Louisiana IceGators.

After a period of up and down hockey, Louisiana found itself up 1-0 on the Ice Bears. Near the end of the first, Knoxville put pressure on the Louisiana defense with strong power play chances. The Ice Bears could not break through against IceGators goaltender, Breton Lindoff.

A penalty filled second period saw both teams capitalize on scoring chances. Knoxville started the scoring with a wrist shot from the top of the circle by Jeremy Klaver. Klaver received a pass from Eric Satim in the zone and finished the play beating Lindoff top shelf.

The IceGators responded with a power play goal scored Kirk Byczynski to put Louisiana back on top, 2-1. Tyler Lyon put another past Knoxville goalie, Bryan Hince, two minutes later to increase the IceGators second period lead to 3-1.

Knoxville pulled within one with a goal from Eric Satim. Brendan Taylor swooped around the back of the net and tried a wrap-around. The rebound bounced out to Satim, who beat Lindoff over his right shoulder.

The IceGators regained its two goal lead on a 2-on-1 break away from Jordan Foreman. Clark Byczynski hit Foreman on a cross ice pass and he put it away for the final goal of the game and a 4-2 victory for the IceGators.

The Ice Bears will be back on home ice tomorrow Saturday, March 16 for Bike Night presented by Harley Davidson of Knoxville. Ride your Harley and wear your biker gear as you come support the Ice Bears. Puck drops at 7:35, call and reserve your seats now as space is limited.
