KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- For 25 years Mr. Kennedy has been mentoring and inspiring the choir students of Powell High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. His influence has created a strong ‘family’ among the past and present members of the Powell High Singers.
The documentary film ‘Hands in the Air: Jim Kennedy and the PHS Singers’ is a year-in-the-life journey alongside Mr. Kennedy and the PHS Singers as well as a look back at the lives that have been changed by the choir groups that he has led. It follows the audition process, the bonding weekend retreats, the day-to-day grind, the performance prep, dramatic moments, and the individual personalities that emerge throughout the year.
The film also chronicles some events and memories from the past 25 years and takes you behind the scenes of the lives that have been affected by the man and the music.
