Morristown draws national bands to first fair in 50 years

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- After more than a half-century, Morristown will host its first fair, city leaders proudly announced on Thursday. The East Tennessee State Fair is set for August 13-17, 2013 in Cherokee Park.

To celebrate, organizers are bringing in popular, national bands like Confederate Railroad, Black Stone Cherry, Skid Row, and Chris Cagle. That's not all, though. The fair will also feature carnival, cakes, quilts, and more.

Tickets will be $5 for kids 5-12 and $10 for those 13 and up.There's also a Reserved Section for $15. Week-long passes are also available for $65. Daily tickets are available at all gates. They open everyday at 4:30 p.m., except Saturday, when they open at 10:00 a.m.

Wednesday is Food City Family Free Night. Everyone gets through in for FREE!
