NB lane shutdown on Alcoa Hwy after rockslide

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - One lane of Alcoa Highway on the northbound side is closed Wednesday morning after a rockslide.

It happened around 10:30 Tuesday night just north of Woodson Drive.

Large rocks are currently in the right lane and on the shoulder and Tennessee Department of Transportation crews are looking over the slide and working to remove the rocks.

One driver did hit a barrier just after the rockslide. She was taken to the hospital but her condition has not been released.

Morning commuters are being asked to take John Sevier Highway to Chapman Highway. Or drivers can take Pellissippi Parkway to I-40.
