NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Tennessee woman got a rude wakeup call when a bullet crashed through the ceiling of her apartment and struck her in the shoulder.
WSMV-TV in Nashville reported that the woman was taken Sunday night to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say her upstairs neighbor, David White, was playing with his gun when it went off and the bullet went through the floor at about 11 p.m. CDT.
White surrendered to Nashville detectives. He is facing charges of reckless endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and possession of prescription medication without a prescription.
Jail records did not list an attorney for White.
