BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A vacant apartment went up in flames early Saturday morning, according to fire officials.
It happened on Defoe Circle around 4:30 a.m. in Blount County.
According to the Blount County Fire Department, when firefighters arrived on scene there were visible flames shooting out of the roof.
Captain Ogle told Local 8 News there was no furniture inside the home. He was told the apartment had been vacant since February.
No one was injured.
Residents evacuated the building during the fire but were able to return to their homes.
According to fire officials, one apartment did have some smoke damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
