Pinspiration - DIY crafts for holiday home decor

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Heather Haley here for this week's Pinspiration projects on Local 8 News This Morning. From what's trending on Pinterest, I found crafts for the home.

What you'll need:
- Picture Frame (Mine are from a dollar store.)
- Scrapbook paper

I showed how a beautiful piece of scrapbook paper can look like expensive wall art. I simply trimmed an 8x11 page to fit inside an 8x10 frame. The best part, it's affordable enough to change out with holidays or to update art in a kid's room.

You can use stickers or wall vinyl decals on the glass itself to add depth to the print. Framing fabric can also be a beautiful option. I displayed some burlap in a frame as well.

PINSPIRATION - Cupcake Stand

What you'll need:
- plate
- candlestick
- glue (Gorilla Glue Enamel is great for glass because it dries clear and is waterproof.)

I purchased both of these glass items at a dollar store. The glue was $5 at a craft store, but it goes a long way so I'll use it on future projects.

Follow the instructions on the glue to adhere the candlestick to the bottom of the plate. Done. It was that easy.

What I love is that project can be so useful. The stand itself can be for decorative items, food, jewelry, wherever you'd like to put it. You can also get plastic or melamine plates for a more modern look. Or, use cake pans for a shabby chic, country flare.
