SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- City planners in Sevierville are reviewing plans for a proposed medical center on Veteran's Boulevard.

The Sevierville Regional Planning Commission has gotten an application for approval of a piece of land near Blanton Boulevard for a 6500 square foot facility.

The Smoky Mountain Urgent Care filed the application with the city.

"The medical office is about 6,500 square feet, then within the building there's another 5,000 square feet but I'm not aware of what they might use that for," said Bob Stahlke, a spokesperson for the City of Sevierville.

A spokesperson with Smoky Mountain Urgent Care says they are looking at purchasing a piece of property and wanted to make sure they would be able to put an expanded care center there in future years.

The city says the property is already zoned to allow for this type of facility.
